Sunday, December 18: Peace – Shalom

(Reasoning by Pastor Sherry Petro-Surdel). Shalom is often translated as peace, but it is much more rich and complex. It is more than the absence of war. It means an absence of oppression and fear, and this applies to everyone. It is God’s dream manifested, “On earth as it is in heaven.” It belongs to everyone, just as it is everyone’s responsibility.
