Interspirituality | Nondenominational | Interfaith

Spirit Space – a gathering place – is an Interspiritual, Interfaith, Spiritual Enrichment Center in Saugatuck, Michigan.  Located at 3493 Blue Star Hwy. We honor the wisdom in all the major faith traditions. Spirit Space displays various ecumenical symbols: angels, a statue of Buddha, a Christian cross, a Ralph Waldo Emerson plaque, a menorah, sweet grass, and a banner of ancient Chinese wisdom.

“A spiritual renaissance is taking place in our world.  At Spirit Space, we acknowledge the importance of going within for our spiritual answers. When we become aware of the infinite possibilities within, we become agents of miraculous change in the world. As Mahatma Gandhi instructed, ‘We must be the change we wish to see in the world.'” – Sherry Petro-Surdel

Those attending Spirit Space are mostly individuals who have been seeking an alternative to the traditional church experience. Our church is interfaith, non-denominational and has no affiliation with any religious association. It is an all-inclusive spiritual community reaching in, and, as a result, reaching out to others in the community.

My Prayerful Affirmation for Spirit Space:

We affirm the doors of Spirit Space are wide enough to receive all who hunger for love and peace, all who are lonely for friendship and care.

We affirm it welcomes all who have cares to unburden, gratitudes to express, hopes and dreams to nurture.

We affirm it encourages one another to ask the tough questions, so that we may grow individually and as a spiritual community.

We affirm the doors of Spirit Space are so narrow that they shut out pettiness, pride, envy and prejudice.

We affirm that its threshold is no stumbling block to the young, to the truth seekers and the curious.

We affirm the doors are too high to succumb to complacency, mediocrity, selfishness and harshness.

We affirm this place called Spirit Space is a home for all who enter, seeking a more meaningful life.  A place to go deep within and then offer opportunities to contribute to Planet Earth and all living beings.

We affirm that our hearts always are as open as our doors.

This is our dream,

Spirit Space
